The adage that there’s no place like home did not hold true for the alternate clad Whitecaps this evening, in front of a stocked blue rink of family and friends. The visiting WLW/ Pinckney Unified squad edged the Walled Lake Whitecaps 5-4 in a closely contested matchup of Lakes Valley rivals.
Notwithstanding the final score, the Whitecaps found just about every way to score: even strength, power play and shorthanded goals were noted on the score sheet. But in the end, the home team just didn’t have enough offensive firepower to take down WLW/Pinckney.
